Gay Holloween Festival on Santa Monica?

Hello all!

My friend told me that every year they have a holloween festival of sorts on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood that tends to be a little queer (being so that it is in West Hollywood). Thought I'd let everyone know. It should be fun!

We can post stuff now!

Hi, it's Jacqueline!

I wanted to say I think the Hard Gay guy is hilarious. I'd seen him floating around the internet before, and it's great that he made it here.

Have you guys heard of Eddie Izzard? He's a great queer comedian. Here's where he explains his ideas on transvestism.

Also, I had another question about our essay, Professor. The way I've got mine structured now is some background info on me, which is pretty important if you would like to know how I developed my queer eye. Then I'll probably talk about a few of my favorite films/t.v. shows and what they meant to me as a queer person. Does that sound all right? Is there something else you'd like us to talk about?

Intro 2

Hey everybody. I'm Jim, and I'll be helping facilitate our class blog.

Before I start a discussion topic, I wanted to use this first post as an opportunity for people who didn't get a chance to introduce themselves to do so here. I'll start.

I'm a third year psychology student from Long Beach. I'm not an LGBT major/minor but am gay and like queer cinema a lot because its a nice change to see gay characters empowered through film (whether they be positive images or sinister villains). I'm not very in touch with queer culture, so here's my chance to change that!

Please post a comment with your intro, and even if you have, feel free to share more about yourself or feelings about the class.

"Itty Bitty Titty Committee earns its title the hard way! This is an upfront call to action that takes no prisoners and pulls no punches. For anyone in despair over the state of the world or the movies, this posse of revolting dykes deliver a megadose of hope. Kicking free of genre and industry expectations, Jamie Babbit proves that she can rock with the best of them." -- B. “…an infectiously enthusiastic romp” ----Lee Marshall, Screen Daily

"Itty Bitty is a crazy, funny, foul-mouthed, crowd-pleasing winner — one of the most enjoyable films to come out of the festival circuit in some time." ----Danielle Riendeau, afterellen.com
Jamie Babbit’s follow-up to But I’m a Cheerleader is smarter, funnier and more accomplished than its predecessor. ----Ernest Hardy, LA WEEKLY
